To Donata Francescato goes the first award of the European Community Psychology Association for the contribution to Community Psychology.
The European Association of Community Psychology appreciates the commitment of Donata Francescato to facing from a Community Psychology perspective the issues of modern society such as school and work interaction and social and family life balance. The Association acknowledges her efforts to spread this discipline in the academic domain and the contribution given in order to develop and enrich it both in Italy and, more broadly, in the whole Europe. To her credit goes the promotion of our discipline every since she published the first volume in Community Psychology in 1977, and also the foundation of the first European Network of Community Psychology in 1994. Other than her research and training activity, as well as the wide divulgation she made of this subject, her peculiar contribution lies in the development of specific intervention and research methodologies with regard to community profiles and organizational analysis.
